When the Baby is Almost Walking
January 17th, 2009 by Kate | Posted in The Baby |I am a mother of 3 teenage boys, 18, 17, 13, and of course there is my husband. God decided that I needed a girl and delivered on that on 3/1/08, the day my youngest son turned 13, also the same day that the cat I sweetly arm-twisted my husband into turned 4…March 1st is a big day at my place. Ironically hubby hated cats and who do you think ended up being the kitty’s “mom”…LOL
I have been a mother for over 18 years, but NOTHING prepares you for the joy (and fear) when your little one starts walking. You carry them around for 9 + or - months, then you have them and they are just a sweet little lump for a while. Then all of a sudden the light bulb goes off…they crawl or scoot and then WHAM!! They figure it out. There is no greater joy than seeing the look on their little face when they realize what they have done. Life just doesn’t get much better.
I am waiting for that last little epiphany with munchkin, I imagine that it will be coming any day now. Problem is I thin k she will only have one speed, and that’s FAST! Oh well I could use the exercise!
